Sales manager
at Matthew Cox
Matthew Cox is a sales manager to join its team in Stamford, UK.
Matthew Cox is a company of designers, makers, curators and innovators creating furniture to last 100 plus years. As a third-generation antiques dealer, Matthew has distilled his knowledge into a versatile collection of made to measure pieces, which complement our ever-changing selection of antiques.
By making furniture to measure, we minimise waste and create resonant, personal pieces constructed using both time-honoured methods and innovative processes. By paring back our designs to the essential, we allow the rich natural materials and beautifully subtle details to speak for themselves.
We work in Stamford, Lincolnshire which is regularly named as one of the best places to live in the UK. The studio is located in a 17th-century townhouse and we make our furniture in and around a 1930s Dutch barn with huge views of Lincolnshire fields.
Hours – 9-5pm Monday to Friday
Salary – £30k plus profit share and benefits
The role
We’re looking for a proactive, methodical and empathetic person with a love of design to become our new sales manager.
You’ll steer projects through our process, making sure our clients receive structured communications up to the point of delivery and beyond (if appropriate). - working with our directors to ensure our client base is provided with product updates / new content as is relevant
- analysing sales/financial data owning the monthly scorecard for sales
- coming up with ideas to maintain healthy sales and develop client relationships
- providing feedback and suggestions on improving company processes
- contributing to the future planning of the business
Essential for role:
- love of design

- empathy with team members and clients
- experience in customer service/ sales roles (six to ten plus years’)
- eppreciation of our vision and values
- knowledge of our market and peers

- financially literate, ability to set up and work with budgets and forecasts
Our values

Simplicity – I challenge and refine processes while communicating with clarity and kindness.
Quality – I strive for the highest standards in my work while supporting others to do the same.
