Sérénité Luxury is looking for senior and mid-weight interior designers to join its team in Monaco.

We take people on journeys in our projects, we imagine design for experiences, from the bigger picture to smallest details.

We are looking for senior interior designers with a minimum of eight years of professional experience in hospitality design to join our team in Monaco. 

Overview: 

  • responsible for a project team (typically consisting of other designers, FF&E and furniture designers)
  • lead and develop projects and to inspire project teams to ensure that an initial concept is developed, detailed and successfully delivered through to the final stages on time and on budget
  • involvement in every stage of a project and be the main point of contact for the client
  • manage and mentor specific team members. Support the design manager in team management generally

Key responsibilities

Creative thinking:

  • generate and develop concepts from a brief that provide an original, appropriate and effective solution to the creative brief
  • earn the confidence of the client and internal team by creating a clearly defined direction to pursue
  • generate solutions and alternatives as problems arise and seek approval from designers and client

Creative conceptualisation

  • articulate an idea to both an internal and external audience
  • present and sell concepts and design solutions to client

Detail design or planning and scoping:

  • formulate a work schedule internally and externally 
  • develop and prepare scheme designs with input from the design manager for key project stages (drawings, models, images, material & mood boards and other documents relating to the design)
  • communicate effectively with key team members and client on a regular basis
  • detail, design, prepare and present all furniture, fittings and equipment (FF&E) requirements
  • schedule and communicate all costs and specifications internally and externally
  • coordinate workload, ensuring that all stages of the project are delivered with clarity on time and on budget

Implementation:

  • coordinate and liaise with contractors, subcontractors, local authorities and all other relevant personnel
  • attend client meetings, provide minutes/contact report to all attendees
  • ensure quality control through regular site visits and record progress
  • handover
  • ensure that final project delivery runs smoothly and that all FF&E and styling requirements are delivered on brief
  • ensure client relationship is developed and maintained

  • ability to work on many projects at any one time

Experience:

  • proven experience and developed creative ability gained from a related design practice (likely to be gained over eight years)
  • a good understanding of current trends and experience of working in residential sectors and on luxury residential properties.
  • have onsite experience such as: surveying projects, meetings with contractors, vendors and architects as relevant to the project.
  • familiarity with a wide range of FF&E sources, vendors and fabricators.

Skills:

  • sketching and drawing
  • AutoCAD 2D
  • presentation InDesign/Photoshop
  • communication
  • work with designers to prepare, schedule and cost all FF&E specifications

Desirable:

  • understanding of financial aspects of running a design project on time and on budget
  • experience using project management software
  • knowledge of local vendors is a must

  • must be fluent in French and English, oral and written

  • ability to work effectively, efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines
