Renegade is a lighting and production design studio based in London and New York, founded by designer and creative director Nicholas Gray in 2005. The studio operates internationally and across multiple creative industries such as fashion, music and visual arts with a strong focus on innovative technical and aesthetic solutions drawn from different disciplines.

Role description

Renegade is looking for a full-time lighting and project assistant to join its creative, fast-paced studio. This is a supportive role, which will be working closely with the design team, whilst communicating with external clients, crew and suppliers. Operating primarily within the event industry, the role will require flexible working hours and a proactive, positive attitude. Additional professional training will be provided with the possibility of growth and development within the company. Given the nature of the role, the ideal candidate would need to be London-based.

Responsibilities:

  • on-site and studio-based support to the design team
  • attend relevant site visits, collate information, drawings, measurements etc
  • work on lighting plans and pre-production
  • communicate with clients, suppliers and crew members
  • book crew for different projects
  • project-related administration, paperwork, complete health and safety documents
  • contribute to projects development with creative solutions and ideas

Skills:

  • two/three years minimum experience in the lighting design industry
  • good knowledge of Vectorworks is essential
  • good knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD drawing programs and Keynote
  • problem-solving creative approach
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • able to work well in a team as well as independently
  • excellent organisational and time management skills / able to multitask
  • strong attention to detail
  • positive, proactive attitude
  • willing to learn new competencies
  • passionate about lighting and production design
