The Role
We are looking for an interior design architect to join our team. The successful candidate will be helping to manage the design and build process from start to completion. They will be a key member of the preconstruction team and carry projects right through to completion assisting with bringing their designs to life.
Successful candidates should be interested in interior design and have a passion for interesting spaces. They should have good verbal and written communication skills. They should be able to use Vectorworks or CAD, and Adobe Creative Suite. They will have good knowledge of fit-out construction, and building control and regulations relating to design and build. The candidates will be able to work independently and within the team.
Roles and responsibilities:
- part take in client meetings and brief building
- site visits and site surveys
- create interior design concept drawings and mood boards
- create and design technical drawings for construction
- when necessary, have the ability to develop value engineering designs/detail designs
- create as-built drawings
- provide quantities and details to our PMs for traditional build jobs (linear meters and areas etc)
- create and design renders
- joinery designs
- analyse drawings from architects and create RFI’s
- design pitch/proposal documents for project tenders
- give client presentations, sales pitch to design works
- procurement and quotations
- FF & E schedule/schedule of finishes
- take part in costing-review-meetings-based project designs
- work and meet with clients/architects/sub contractors/suppliers
- find new suppliers and build relationships
- organise and collect samples for clients/projects
- work with/knowledge of building control
Requirements:
- great conceptual and visualising skills with good verbal and written communication skills in English
- professional-level design software proficiency in AutoCAD and Vectorworks
- professional-level design software proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- proven experience producing detailed drawings packages, schedules and specifications
- good knowledge of FF&E & joinery and construction detailing
- creative problem-solving and attention to detail
- confident to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- articulate and confident in liaising with architects, consultants, specialists and suppliers
- good knowledge of finishes and materials
