Role
The project design director is a pivotal role in the practice, providing client interface, design and delivery, leadership and direction for the architecture and design projects. They will have ultimate responsibility for the delivery of these projects and ensure the buildings, spaces, information, products and images have engaged with the practice design and delivery process.
The project design director will play a crucial role in expanding our international project portfolio through strategic business development activities. They will also be responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of the team, including mentorship and development of the team members.
Key responsibilities:
- provide a leading role in the establishment of projects and ensure their successful implementation and delivery
- proactively source new business opportunities and develop strategies to secure new projects
- develop strong relationships with existing and new clients
- work with the creative director and the design team in developing the design direction for the projects and the practice
- provide leadership to the growing team
Key skills and experience:
- demonstrated excellence in design capability through successful delivery of projects
- demonstrated capability in concept generation and expression
- comprehensive knowledge of building and detailing techniques
- excellent written and communication skills, ability to present and conduct meetings at board level
- initiative, demonstrating drive and tenacity with excellent interpersonal and people management skills
- ability to interpret, analyse and contribute to financial reports
- ability to successfully manage numerous responsibilities in a mature and professional manner
