Mid-weight FF&E designer

Kibre is hiring a mid-weight FF&E designer to join its team in London.
Kibre works on a wide range of projects nationwide providing interior design, procurement and installations. With a focus on large scale amenity spaces within hospitality, build to rent, co-working and private offices.
The role will work closely with the wider design team, designing, sourcing and overseeing the FF&E design. It is a dynamic and exciting role working as part of a social team on all aspects of design and FF&E.
The candidate will have a portfolio of high-quality contemporary interiors demonstrating commercial, hospitality and residential development experience. We are looking for someone with exceptional design, coordination and management skills and high attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience of successfully delivering projects from inception to completion. The role requires drive and initiative in a fast-paced, lively and creative environment.

Kibre is an interior design studio at its heart. We will celebrate our 13 year anniversary in January 2024. The business supports a wide range of clients and designs.
We deliver schemes from concept to completion, managing the whole process in-house. We instil a warm and exceptional design quality into each scheme focusing on bespoke and individual design.

What are we looking for?
- impeccable and concise communication and presentation skills, verbal and written; must be fluent in spoken and written English
- an industry recognised diploma or degree in interior design, interior architecture or architecture
- at least three-plus years postgraduate experience with a minimum of three years in the residential/hospitality sector
- competent in MS Office, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite
- experience with Estimac or similar is essential
- comfortable with design, procurement and overseeing this process
- efficient in time management and a conscientious and clear communicator
- capable of assisting in running multiple FF&E projects
- proven experience working on residential and/or hospitality focused projects
- proven experience in project management, budgeting and scheduling with an understanding of project programs and deadlines
- a confident, loyal, trustworthy, dynamic person who can hold their own with clients, project consultant teams, suppliers and contractors
- self-motivated and unafraid to take responsibility, ensuring Kibre deliver a seamless service to our clients
- excellent presentation skills of both physical and digital mood boards and client presentations
- a passion for FF&E, design, art and aesthetics, with a good knowledge of suppliers, product and specialist finishes and aware of current design trends
- experience in procurement would be a plus but is not essential
- a good eye for scale and balance, detail and colour
- general knowledge of interior architecture with the ability to read and understand technical drawings, including furniture shop drawings
- can differentiate the needs of different ‘styles’ and ‘looks’ and deliver those styles without letting personal preferences impact choices
- able to use a variety of media in the development and documentation of a design project
- able to demonstrate discretion with sensitive and sometimes confidential information
Other desirable skills:
- experience in ‘lighting’ as a design element – knowledge of how to use lighting and shadows for drama and impact, would be a plus
- proven onsite experience, including technical drawing reviews
Responsibilities:
- manage FF&E CAD plans, working up coordinated plans with RCPs and the interior designers GA’s and sections
- ensure that the furniture, fittings and equipment (FF&E) requirements on all projects are sourced, ordered and delivered on time, on budget and to brief, from inception to completion
- preparation of concepts, mood boards, preliminary and final designs, and development of details, furniture, fixtures and lighting layouts in Adobe Suite and AutoCAD
- managing projects efficiently, within schedule and within budget, in close cooperation with senior designer and director
- developing detailed designs and selection of furniture, lighting and finishes, taking responsibility for technical drawings in plans and elevations prior to presentations and delivery
- self-motivated but also a good team player who can work quickly and efficiently in an organised manner
- attend client meetings and present FF&E concepts to clients, ability to advise clients and other parties on all specification and cost details of a design project
- experience in dealing with clients, contractors and other suppliers in a highly professional manner
- prepare full FF&E schedules and approval from directors
- oversee purchase orders, specification sheets and control books, working alongside the procurement team
- negotiate, coordinate and liaise with suppliers to ensure that all specifications and deliveries are meeting deadlines and remain on budget, throughout the procurement of all FF&E items
- generate solutions and alternatives as problems arise and seek approval from designers and clients
- ensure regular and open communication, and build and grow existing client and supplier relationships, and advance supplier database
- ability to work with suppliers to create bespoke designs and finishes
- oversee installation of the project ensuring that all FF&E, accessories and styling requirements are met
- assist in professional photography, when required
- ensure that FF&E library/sample area is managed and maintained
