Senior architect

We are looking for a talented, creative, focused, confident, motivated individual with a flair for design and good technical skills to join our busy practice, who:

  • has at least five years post Part-III in-practice UK experience in leading and managing a number of projects from concept design stage, through development of design, technical design and tendering, as well as administering construction and completion stages – as defined by the RIBA plan of work
  • enjoys the challenge of design and working with high-end residential properties and traditional buildings, often in sensitive contexts or settings
  • has the proven ability to run a small team, and develop and manage a portfolio of projects. The successful candidate will have a friendly approach and a willingness to work as a team player
  • will engage well and effectively with others, has confidence in liaising with clients, contractors and other professionals and is able to develop relationships with them
  • can demonstrate excellent written, graphic and verbal communication skills
  • has a wide range of experience of working within UK planning and building regulations legislation
  • experience of using Vectorworks, SketchUp and NBS building software would be an advantage, however training will be given as necessary

We work in a collaborative design environment, where regular debate and design reviews are an important part of studio life, and we value the input of all team members. We enjoy solving problems through design and thereby adding value, where our aim is always to craft our architecture to excite.

The right candidate will run their own portfolio of projects with the support of the rest of the architectural team as needed. The opportunity of becoming involved with the direction of the practice is welcomed with consideration of becoming part of the senior management team available to the right candidate.
