Manager of visual merchandising and design

Tom Ford Beauty is looking for a manager of visual merchandising and design to become part of its team in New York, USA.
Principal objective
This position reports to the director of global visual merchandising. Design and management of Tom Ford Beauty in-store merchandising, in-store collateral, presentations, special events, windows, schematics, merchandising guidelines, specialty merchandising units and fixtures representing the brand image and equity.
Key responsibilities:
- manage the design development of cosmetic and fragrance displays/tester units for Tom Ford Beauty free-standing doors, department store, perfumeries and special event formats
- create new and innovative merchandising design solutions for a luxury and prestige beauty landscape through ideation, sketches and presentation renderings
- issue detailed schematics for production for vendor-required specifications with dimensioned drawings for manufacturing
- set up regular status reports with global regional teams and review of infield execution
- liaise with development team on execution of designs with vendors through the review of engineering drawings, materials samples, production samples and final prototypes
- develop planograms and visual merchandising guidelines for both site-specific needs and system-wide for regional teams
- liaise with creative operations and global product marketing to maintain product assortments, updates and new launches
- coordinate with global store design team for relevant site drawings and specifications needed for execution of designs
- ability to solve merchandising challenges creatively while remaining on-brand
The role:
- position requires five years’ plus of design work experience, preferably in the cosmetics or fashion
- BFA in industrial design preferred
- experience in visual merchandising in luxury retail preferred
- excellent organizational skills, quality execution, and attention to detail
- passionate about retail and in-store visual merchandising with a deep understanding of current luxury beauty/fashion/retail/design trends
- strong self-starter with good project management while remaining a team player
- ability to work well in a team environment, contribute ideas, and interact with other departments to obtain current information
- strong project management skills, ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- strong communication skills with ability to articulate ideas and concepts clearly and accurately to cross-functional partners
- flexibility and problem-solving skills are essential
- highly proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and relevant CAD/3D rendering programs. Rhino a must, Keyshot preferable
- proficient with manufacturing and production methods and materials
- model making abilities a plus
