London, UK
Architectural technician/technical architect
at CBC London

CBC London is seeking an architectural technician/technical architect to join its team in London.

Full-time – based in Maida Vale, London (hybrid working available post-probation).

CBC London is a contractor known for delivering thoughtful, high-performance homes. Our work spans EnerPHit-standard retrofits, sensitive heritage projects, and contemporary low-energy new builds. We work closely with clients, architects, and consultants to turn well-considered design into robust, buildable architecture.

We are now looking for an experienced Architectural Technician or Technical Architect to join our growing in-house team.

This is a technically focused, detail-driven role, ideal for someone who enjoys translating design intent into clear, coordinated construction information and understands how drawings play out on site.

About you

You will be a strong fit for this role if you:

  • are a qualified architect (RIBA/ARB) or CIAT-qualified technician with a minimum of four years’ post-qualification experience
  • have strong ArchiCAD experience (this is essential)
  • have solid experience delivering residential projects, particularly refurbishment and retrofit
  • are confident producing detailed, buildable technical drawings and resolving junctions and interfaces
  • understand UK Building Regulations and are comfortable coordinating technical information
  • have on-site awareness and an appreciation of construction sequencing and buildability
  • are familiar with EnerPHit and AECB retrofit standards, or are keen to develop expertise in this area
  • are organised, calm under pressure, and enjoy working collaboratively within a close-knit team
  • are proactive, curious, and comfortable asking questions or proposing better technical solutions

What we offer:

  • a permanent, full-time position based at our Shirland Road office (W9)
  • hybrid working available following successful completion of the probation period
  • varied and meaningful projects, from heritage retrofits to new low-energy homes
  • close collaboration with directors, consultants, and site teams
  • a competitive salary, dependent on experience and capability
  • Christmas closure
  • pension scheme
  • ongoing professional development and support

We are builders who care deeply about technical quality, good detailing, and the people who deliver it.
