Matthew Allchurch Architects are seeking a talented architectural assistant with a strong interest in design, combined with technical mindset and a rigorous approach to detailing.

About the role

This role is ideal for someone who is design-driven, technically confident, and passionate about delivering refined, well-resolved interiors that integrate seamlessly with architectural intent.

You will be involved across all stages of projects, with a particular focus on interior-led design development, coordination, and technical delivery. Working closely with senior architects and consultants, you will contribute to high-quality, detail-rich projects from concept through to construction.

About the practice

Matthew Allchurch Architects is a design-led practice based at the multi-disciplinary Boathouse Design Studio, on the banks of the River Thames at Teddington Lock. Responsibilities:

  • develop and deliver interior architecture and design concepts aligned     with the overall architectural vision
  • assist the project team in the production of architectural information for planning, tender and construction stages
  • 3D/BIM modelling in Revit
  • visualisation and production of sketch perspectives
  • liaison with consultants, suppliers, and contractors to ensure design   intent is maintained
  • assist with site queries, technical resolution, and quality control during –   construction

Skills:

  • strong graphics and presentation skills
  • strong interest in interior design and detailing
  • ability to produce clear, accurate, and well-coordinated technical   drawings and sketches
  • confident communicator with a collaborative mindset
  • proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit (Adobe Suite experience  advantageous)

Education:

  • RIBA Part 2 in an architectural or an equivalent in interior design discipline (BA, BSc, BArch, BAS, Level 6)
