David Gill Gallery is recruiting a sales manager to join its team in London.

Founded in 1987, David Gill Gallery is at the forefront of collectable contemporary design today. Its program includes art and design, and many of its artists work between disciplines. Artists include Fredrikson Stallard, Barnaby Barford, Michele Oka Doner, Jorge Pardo, late Dame Zaha Hadid, Sir David Chipperfield, Campana Brothers, José Yaque, Sebastian ErraZuriz, Daniel Libeskind, Maria Pergay, Lena Peters, and more.

This exciting permanent position will be primarily focused on the design (furniture) being sold from the gallery, though the art program will also be part of the work. Interior designers are the main focus including arranging meetings and following up on projects. The gallery is based in St James’s London. The individual will support the directors’ sales plan and also be part of sales strategic planning. The candidate will also be involved in fairs that the gallery takes part in.

What can you expect

 Key duties will Include but are not limited to :

  • organising meetings with interior designers at the gallery and at their offices (at times with their clients present). Both current clients and business development with potential clients
  • organising meetings with clients and DG sales director, preparing meeting notes before and following up after the meeting/samples/info on custom works
  • responding by email and telephone to requests about works from the gallery
  • working to online sales in the UK and Europe (1st Dibs, Artsy, additional portals)
  • working on events and talks to engage the UK interior designer audience and UK collector base
  • the first point of contact for visitors to the gallery
  • collaborating with the team (from a sales perspective) for gallery display, stock orders, social media, website, fairs
  • degree level educated or equivalent
  • excellent written and spoken English
  • one of the following languages in full fluency would benefit your application but is not required (French, German, Chinese,  Italian, Spanish)
  • excellent time management skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to create and format exciting emails and full presentations.
