GRECODECO is recruiting a junior interior designer to join its team in New York.

Reporting to: principal

GRECODECO inc is looking for a passionate, hands-on, highly motivated, and creative, interior designer to join the team. This is an opportunity to gain direct experience in a growing business with a diverse portfolio of International projects.

Applicants should be familiar with the Interior Design process from design development, materials research and selection, through to procurement, production and installation. Experience in hospitality and residential fields is a must. Experience in hospitality and residential fields is a must. Interest in historic architecture, restoration, esoterica and exotica a plus.

Reporting into the Principal, responsibilities include:

  • assists the design team in creating concepts, design drawings, & schedules
  • prepares internal/external presentations
  • ensures documents and presentations are prepared according to the standards of the studio
  • sources finishes, fixtures, furnishings, fabrics, lighting, hardware & accessories
  • prepares FF&E specifications for the studio’s projects
  • prepares finishes, plumbing, and hardware schedules for the Studio’s projects
  • maintains sample libraries for the studio’s projects.
  • manages FF&E and sourcing to target budgets and timetable on a daily level
  • closely monitors and manages supplier’s progress to target deadlines and budget
  • assesses and manages prototype stages of bespoke pieces
  • attends regular site visits at key stages
  • assists FF&E install
  • maintains sample library

Qualifications and skills:

  • one-three of experience in hospitality and residential design
  • bachelors degree in interior design
  • experience in being part of a collaborative design environment
  • knowledge of foreign and domestic manufacturers and resources.
  • thrives in a fast paced dynamic, creative environment
  • independence
  • product development a plus

Software requirements:

  • professional-level design software proficiency (Vectorworks)•
  • professional-level design software proficiency (Photoshop, InDesign)
  • professional-level specification software experience (Studio Designer etc.)
