Marketing/communications manager

Design International is looking for a marketing and communications manager to join its office in London.
Design International (DI) is an architectural practice based in London, with branch offices in Milan, Shanghai and Dubai. We operate on a global scale and provide our clients with innovative and ambitious design solutions, with a particular focus on retail, mixed-use and hospitality architecture.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, pragmatic and versatile leader to oversee all marketing and communications aspects of our dynamic and multi-cultural organisation. This is a hands-on role and will suit someone committed and creative with excellent writing and presentation skills, acute commercial understanding and a strong team player who works with enthusiasm across various administrative, financial, contractual/business development and design divisions. The ideal candidate will have proven architectural editorial experience and/or a profound passion for design and architecture.

Key duties and responsibilities
Marketing:
- review and implement the corporate marketing and business development strategy (yearly)
- prepare the marketing, communications and business development budget (yearly) and prepare monthly reports to monitor its implementation and/or alterations that require the partners’ approval
- lead and organise all marketing collaterals (corporate brochures, corporate videos, photography of completed projects, website, blogs content, etc.)
- lead and organise all corporate events (Mapic and Mipim conferences in Cannes, DI Campus events in Milan, DI Lounge events in London, etc.)
Communications:
- design and implement the internal and external communication strategy
- prepare specific presentations for partners (monthly)
- write projects’ descriptions
- write and distribute press releases
- select and coordinate with PR agencies (if employed for specific projects)
- write the monthly corporate newsletter
- write the agenda, send invitations and run our monthly corporate round-ups in the DI Lounge
- review the content of all corporate social media
- establish and maintain PR, media and supplier contracts
- control the contact database
Other key roles that the successful applicant will drive and manage:
- lead the sub-letting of a new lounge area in our London office (DI Lounge) that will be open to flexible working and shared also by DI’s community – and invited guests – for its corporate learning and development events
- lead the communication between DI and eight selected architectural/engineering universities (DI Campus) that will be open to 16 students annually in our Milan office and coordinate the scholarship programme.
You must have:
- outstanding written and spoken English with a feeling for ‘the story’. Additional languages of advantage.
- ideally eight+ years’ experience in a marketing and communications role within the design industry
- experience structuring, tasking, motivating, and coordinating multiple teams over diverse areas of scope
- ability to work focused under pressure and to tight deadlines
- excellent knowledge of the complete Microsoft Office package, in particular Word and Excel, a working knowledge of the Adobe Suite, Power Point and proficiency in mailing programs (i.e. ActiveCampaign)
- good understanding and experience in using social media for business purposes as well as experience in using CMS for websites. An understanding of SEO principles, CRM software, video-editing and digital marketing is desirable

- remuneration; subject to level of experience and expertise in the field, plus annual discretionary bonus and benefits
