Architect/Part 2 job runner

Haworth Tompkins has an opportunity for an architect/Part 2 job runner to join its practice in London.
Award-winning architectural practice Haworth Tompkins, based in Kentish Town, are currently looking for an architect or experienced Part 2 job runner with strong design, detailing and communication skills, to work on a range of medium to large scale projects in the cultural, performance and/or conservation sectors.
Attributes:
- have worked on design-led projects in the UK
- experience leading medium to large scale projects at all RIBA workstages
- good understanding of construction and be able to prepare detailed working drawings and designs
- be confident managing others independently
- have experience of running completed projects on site
- familiar with UK building and planning regulations, as well as other UK design standards
- ability to lead a team of design consultants and be confident coordinating complex projects
- ability to prepare building specifications
As well as the above, successful candidates would preferably also meet the following criteria:
- be comfortable presenting to clients and chairing design team meetings
- five years’ post-Part 2 experience
- awareness and appreciation of design and urban issues and the ability to discuss these and share your opinions
Additional information
We use Bentley MicroStation and Revit CAD packages to develop our projects. Experience using this software is advantageous, but training can also be provided. We work as a collaborative and proactive studio where communication and knowledge sharing is encouraged. Project work is supported by a programme of lunchtime talks, construction site visits and office trips.
