Vitsoe is recruiting a planner to join its team in Munich, Germany.

About Vitsoe:
Since 1959 Vitsœ has created and evolved furniture that allows its customers to live better, with less, that lasts longer. Today Vitsœ is renowned for its single-minded commitment to responsible design as well as it’s continuous production of Dieter Rams’s furniture, which it sells directly to customers worldwide (exports are 60% and growing).
Job purpose:
Based in Munich, to develop Vitsœ’s presence in the German market – and neighbouring countries – by advising customers on the use of Vitsœ’s furniture; helping them to plan solutions for their needs while convincing them of the long-term benefits of buying less that is of a better quality. Not only should customers be delighted by being able to bring some order to their lives but, ideally, they should become ambassadors for Vitsœ, spreading the word in Germany and beyond.
Key areas of responsibility:
  • reach out to end-users, including architecture and interior design professionals, to dramatically increase their awareness of Vitsœ
  • respond to customers’ planning requests
  • create drawings on Vitsœ’s bespoke software according to brief
  • visit customers’ homes or offices to evaluate wall/floor/ceiling types, access for our installation team, suitability of planned furniture for its intended use and environment
  • finalise drawings for production and installation
  • liaise with Vitsœ’s UK production and installation teams to confirm installation, delivery and collection dates
  • work in accordance with Vitsœ’s established planning service to achieve the highest possible conversion from inquiry to customer
The role requires:
  • fluency in written and spoken German
  • fluency in written and spoken English
  • capability in written and spoken Italian is desirable but not essential
  • an ability to develop new and established relationships for Vitsœ
  • willingness to travel – the role is based in Munich but initially, the successful candidate will work for several weeks in the UK for training purposes
  • computer literacy, attention to detail and a process-driven approach
  • absolute precision in technical planning and a desire to complete a job to the high standards demanded by Vitsœ’s customers
  • punctuality, patience and an ability to translate customers’ needs efficiently
  • a social person who is able to work alongside our existing customers and planners
  • availability for Saturday-working
  • a natural ability to think three-dimensionally: Lego or similar might have been your interest
The person will be:
  • careful and diligent – even meticulous – with a good dose of common sense
  • demanding of high standards and at ease with demanding people
  • pro-active, efficient, effective and organised, in both the physical and digital worlds
  • modestly confident and also personable, good-humoured and trustworthy
  • at home in the worlds of art, architecture, craft and design
