KAAN Architecten is looking for a personal assistant with an architectural background to become part of its practice in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
KAAN Architecten is a Rotterdam-based architectural firm merging practical and academic expertise within the fields of architecture, urbanism and research on the built environment. Operating in a global context with studios in Rotterdam, São Paulo and Paris, the firm consists of an international team of architects, landscape architects, urban planners, engineers and graphic designers.
For its office in Rotterdam, KAAN Architecten is urgently looking for a competent personal assistant with a background in architecture.
The assistant’s main task is to support an associate architect in developing and structuring an academic program and help in the preparation of lectures as well as managing agenda and e-mail exchanges.
Good critical skills and a pro-active attitude are important in order to manage a busy working schedule and the partner’s architectural and academic planning. Further daily tasks including organisational and secretarial activities will require a high level of responsibility and quick communication, both remote and direct.
Key responsibilities:
- support in the development of an academic program
- preparation of lecture presentations
- attend academic meetings and events
- manage the partner’s agenda and communication
- regular maintenance of the architect’s website
Requirements:
- good social, communication and organisational skills
- experience with agenda management
- a background in architecture and design is appreciated
- fluency in English and German is required
- proficiency in Adobe InDesign and MS Office
- previous experience in managing websites, blogs and social media
- accurate way of working, proactive and good problem-solving skills
- European work permit
- driving license is required
Important information:
- job interviews will take place in the week of June 24th, 2019
- contract will start in early September 2019
- availability at the beginning of July 2019 is necessary for a short introduction day

The successful candidate will receive a monthly stipend on a three-day week part-time contract. Please note that one of these three days is dedicated to travel with the architect.
