The role
Soho House Design is looking for a passionate, hands-on, highly-motivated, and creative, interior designer to join the team. This person will work within a team of in-house designers on internal and external hospitality and residential projects.
A senior interior designer at Soho House is responsible for producing high-quality project design deliverables from concept generation to both FF&E specification and construction documents. They work directly with the design director on tasks and deliverables to ensure the facilitation of a project’s completion. They oversee multiple projects simultaneously and are responsible of their team that consists of designers from junior to senior levels.
Main duties:
- manages team workflow and efficiency
- forecasts design schedules and interior team hours
- creates, prepares and presents design concepts for the review of the design director
- ensures project deliverables are in accordance with the design development timetable and interior design budget and report to design director on a weekly level
- responsible for FF&E budgets
- attends weekly reviews with purchasing agent to monitor progress to report to design director
- ensures that the integrity of the agreed design solutions are maintained by taking responsibility for the development of the design and the project
- leads FF&E install
- works closely together with design director to ensure continuous improvement of Soho House standards (handbook for starters, schedules, suppliers list, filing structure, checklists)
Required skills/qualifications:
- six-plus years of experience in hospitality and residential design
- bachelors degree in interior design
- experience in being part of a collaborative design environment
- knowledge of local and online showrooms and resources, industry trends
- thrives in a fast-paced dynamic, creative environment
- product development a plus
Software requirements:
- professional-level design software proficiency (AutoCAD)
- professional-level design software proficiency (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Revit knowledge a plus
