Torner Architects is looking for a talented architect to join its London practice.
Opportunity to rapidly develop yourself into a well-rounded architect with a high level of responsibility and ownership of projects from inception to completion, with a clear path to becoming an associate and director.
Torner Architects is an emerging practice with office in central London. We are looking for an architect to work in our team. This full-time, permanent role demands a dedicated self-starter with team spirit who shares our creative ambitions.
The candidate will have both good design and technical credentials, and have had exposure to all RIBA stages and will be dealing with clients, colleagues, suppliers, statutory bodies and contractors – ensuring a broad variety of work on a daily basis. While initially reporting to a team leader, the candidate’s long-term goal should be to take ownership of an increasing number and complexity of projects to develop themselves into a well-rounded architect and key member of the studio.
Key responsibilities:
- lead projects currently on site
- prepare tender packages for projects currently at planning and design development stage
- coordinate with design team proposal in readiness for site works
- supporting the new business team in the preparation and coordination of bids and proposals
- manipulating text, graphics and images – type setting etc.
- altering images including graphs and drawings to be used in presentation material
- assisting to maintain the database of project-related material
- creating presentations to company standards
- using Adobe Creative Suite to create diagrams , documents and imagery
- other duties commensurate with this role that may be required from time to time
Skills and experience:
- highly computer literate with solid experience of using the full Adobe Suite, Vectorworks and SketchUp
- exceptional skills and experience in the preparation of high-quality packages, documents and graphics

- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- professional attitude with ability to meet deadlines and multi-task
- positive and pro-active approach
