BetterPAD is hiring an architect to join its team remotely in the UK.
BetterPAD is seeking an experienced architect to join the team and play a pivotal role in the companies growth. We offer a variety of different service levels with the goal of being accessible to all projects, believing that if all building work went through the filter of an architect, the world would be a better place!
Since our founding in 2018 we’ve steadily grown a portfolio of beautifully crafted work, and are working on some exciting new appointments.
We’re looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and talented architect to take the lead on a number of projects and work alongside a small team on others.
You will be responsible for:
- leading the design and management of up to ten projects at a time across different project stages
- overseeing junior staff member(s)
- carrying out consultations over Zoom with prospective new clients
- contributing to the promotion and profile of the company through attending industry events and active network building
You should have:
- minimum three years post-qualification UK experience running residential refurbishment projects through all project stages; (project value £100k – £750k)
- strong design skills
- ability to work quickly and efficiently, and to multi task
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to develop a rapport with clients and consultants
- experience administering JCT MWD
- high proficiency in Vectorworks, SketchUp and Adobe Suite
- excellent command of English, both written and spoken
We don’t have a central office, but rather work mostly from home, and get together in different co-working spaces two to three times a week. This hasn’t been happening for the past four/five months, so you will need to be comfortable and able to work independently from home, with a view to meeting in east Dulwich depending on lockdown rules in the coming months.
The position would be for an initial contract period of three months as a freelancer, with the possibility of permanent employment and open-ended career development for an aspirational person.
To apply please send a CV, portfolio (single document no greater than 5MB in size) and a brief description of why you would be suitable for this role and how you meet the requirements described above. Please also state your remuneration expectations and availability.
