Bert Frank is seeking a graduate product designer, industrial designer or engineer to join its team in London.

Bert Frank is an award-winning luxury lighting design studio that prides itself on engineering and manufacturing exclusively in the UK. Joining our small team, you will be able to learn and contribute to how each of Bert Frank’s products is produced step by step, from precision machining, hand finishing and assembly, to packaging design, instruction documents and backend software implementation. Although the Bert Frank team is small, we are a fun and social studio that works closely to ensure our product is unmatched in the global market.

Job description:

  • update and create accurate 3D models for the lighting range in Solidworks
  • work with our production team to ensure our production files and documentation are up to date and accurate
  • assist with the implementation of new software and the communication between the design studio and our production team
  • three-month fixed-term contract (with potential for renewal)
  • London-based studio role, potential work from home, but successful hire must be London-based and able to attend studio working sessions daily. Studio open 09:00-17:30.
  • pro-rata salary £20-25k, depending on experience

General requirements:

  • focused and meticulous, with attention to accuracy of delivered information
  • confident with Solidworks and basic skills of other design programmes (Adobe suite)
  • eager to learn and be responsible for all aspects of production engineering
  • knowledge of lighting or production design is a plus but not required
  • willing and able to travel within the UK for business related, overnight trips
  • must have the legal right to work in the UK/sponsorship not available

Technical requirements:

  • proficiency with Solidworks parts, assemblies and drawings
  • knowledge of Solidworks configurations and custom properties a plus but not essential
  • evidence in CV/portfolio of technical detailing and production drawings
  • knowledge of Adobe suite, namely Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
