Chris Dyson Architects has an opportunity for an architect to join its team in London.
Chris Dyson Architects is looking for an architect with project running experience to join our award winning Spitalfields office. Applicants must have at least five years post Part 3 experience. We are looking for a strong designer with experience of taking projects through all RIBA work stages, from commission to handover.
Chris Dyson Architects works predominantly with private clients, but we are increasingly expanding into work for commercial developers and local authorities. We enjoy working on challenging projects of all scales. We have built a reputation for working with heritage assets and on constrained, sensitive sites, maximising value for clients. We have a varied portfolio of completed and live projects, spanning private and multi-unit residential buildings, offices, commercial buildings. We pride ourselves on a high degree of attention to detail and a flair for innovative and modern design.
The position will require somebody who can manage a team of architects and assistants. It will require experience of working simultaneously on multiple projects at different stages of their development. The successful candidate will be expected to take projects from concept design to site, so experience of detailing and construction work is essential.
Applicants will need to demonstrate that they have:
- at least five years post Part 3 experience
- ARB registration
- excellent communication skills and experience of successfully managing client relations
- excellent hand drawing, design and presentation skills
- the ability to coordinate a consultant team
- the ability to manage a team within the office to work on several projects simultaneously
- experience of working across all RIBA work stages
- experience of working on Listed Buildings and in Conservation Areas
- a good understanding of UK procurement and construction contracts
- experience of producing reports and statements including feasibility studies, design and access statements, end of stage reports. A good standard of written English is essential
- valid UK driving licence preferred
Remuneration dependent upon experience.
