For the past years, BIG LON has experienced continuous growth, hence we are currently looking for an ambitious, talented, and organised business development coordinator to join our team.
As a business development coordinator, you will work closely with every member of the business development team to support the acquisition of new business in primarily the UK and the Middle East by leading the production and delivery of prequalification efforts and generating and managing business development materials and data. In support of the larger market strategy identified by the head of business development UK and ME, the business development coordinator is responsible for generating and managing business development materials such as responses to RFPs and RFQs, interviews, portfolios, and related materials; and supporting logistics for new client inquiries.
As a business development coordinator, you will coordinate a wide range of tasks simultaneously for multiple projects. Attention to detail is of the utmost importance and the role offers great personal development potential in an international, fast-paced, and highly ambitious creative environment.
You will be working within BIG’s operations team, reporting directly to the head of business development UK and ME and you will have a strong working relationship with the other members of the business development team, our in-house bidding and legal teams, as well as the business development teams in our New York, Copenhagen, Barcelona and Shenzhen offices.
Primary areas of responsibility:
- give active support to the business development team, including the head of business development UK and ME, partners and directors
- assist in strengthening BIG’s presence and positioning in existing markets, with a primary focus on the UK and the Middle East
- support in the development of new and maintain existing client, consultant, and collaborator relations
- prepare, coordinate, and produce PQ/RFP/RFQ/RFI submittals, including development of the document and teaming with limited supervision, creating and editing graphic and written content for proposals, interview presentations, pitch decks, and general business development materials
- organise, maintain, and update project cut sheets, resumes, bios, project portfolios
- maintain and become a subject-matter-expert in CRM and project databases (Sugar, Open Asset, Airtable) and act as a resource to business development team and BIG leadership
- assist in maintaining a clear overview of business-related inquires including the initial assessment, vetting, and reporting of new potential projects; and supporting pro-active market research projects
- assist in the preparation of regular status updates on a weekly basis or as needed for the head of business development and/or the business development manager
- assist the head of business development and/or the business development manager with drafting fee proposals for potential projects (as needed)
- support on lectures, exhibitions, and press-related activities (as needed)
- coordination and support on office- and project related tours for potential clients, consultants and collaborators
- act proactively, take initiative, and bring new ideas to the table
- assist in maintaining a clear overview of business-related inquires
- interface with internal BIG departments to complete any of the above (i.e. as BIG landscape, project designers, the operations team, as well as external consultants, etc.)
We seek a person who has:
- a bachelor’s degree (architecture, design, urban studies, communications, writing, or related field preferred) with one to two years’ experience in a similar role within the construction industry
- an interest and affinity for market research in architecture and design, especially in the UK and/or the Middle East
- excellent communication and organisational skills
- a proactive approach, is self-disciplined and enthusiastic
- ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently as well as in team environments, often under tight deadlines
- ability to support with multiple simultaneous pursuits with limited supervision and produce content independently
- proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, with strong graphic skills
- experience with CRM systems (Sugar, Open Asset, Airtable are a plus)
- excellence in English, spoken and written (fluency in another language is a plus)

Salary range is £30,000-£35,000 per annum, subject to relevant experience and qualifications. Relevant applicants will be interviewed on an ongoing basis, as we are seeking to fill this vacancy as soon as possible.
