Senior designer

Design Haus Liberty is seeking a senior designer with five plus years’ experience within the high end sector to join its designer residential team in London.

Target start date: by mid-late August if not sooner

Design Haus Liberty is an architecture and interiors practice based in London, W8, known for delivering high-end commercial and residential schemes both in the UK and internationally.

Role summary

We are looking for a senior interior designer with substantial residential and hospitality/VIP experience to join our team in London, W8.

Essential skills and experience:

  • a degree in interior design (minimum 2:1 or equivalent preferred)
  • three plus years experience as a senior interior designer, with substantial experience of working through Stages 2-5
  • five plus years experience in the high end sector
  • a strong design sensibility, strong creativity and the ability to conceptualise
  • the ability to work across high end residential and commercial projects with ease
  • proficiency in AutoCAD and Creative Cloud (Indesign, PhotoShop) – Windows/PC environment
  • experienced in directing CGI production/concept drawing production
  • experienced in creating technical drawing packages and bespoke joinery/detailing
  • able to assist with creating bespoke FF&E
  • effective communication and liaison skills with clients, external contractors and suppliers
  • proven ability to manage your own workload and the workloads of junior team members
  • experienced in staying calm and focused during projects to deliver on time, under pressure
  • able to work both creatively and commercially i.e. understanding the need to work to a client budget and ensuring team members understand time allocations and deadlines
  • prior work experience in a small, fast paced studio (e.g. less than 20 employees)
  • proven experience managing a small design team (e.g. 5 people)
  • an understanding of the (at times) organic nature of small businesses and the flexibility, communication and collaboration this requires to achieve goals
  • established skills in producing detailed and accurate design work. This is non negotiable
  • strong, natural communication skills in order to manage clients, comfortably address project issues as they arise, present concepts and designs and to ensure the team understands and delivers to brief
  • sophisticated approach to producing presentations (graphics, layouts)
  • fluency in Mandarin/Cantonese is an advantage

  • applicants must be willing to travel to and able to work from our London W8 studio. We are exploring hybrid working and rethinking the purpose of our studio but please note we do not intend being a fully remote business
