Grant Associates is hiring a Revit technician to join its team in Bath, UK.

We enjoy working on a diverse portfolio of challenging and innovative design-led projects throughout the UK, Europe and southeast Asia. We have over 60 employees based in Bath and Singapore.
Grant Associates has been transitioning workflows with the aim that drawing and modeling are native to the Revit environment. We require an experienced Revit designer/technician to assist us in this transition and undertake a number of workstreams to support and inform our evolving Revit protocols.
The position would suit an experienced Revit technician who has worked previously as part of a CAD/Revit team and possess an in-depth knowledge of Revit modelling and Navisworks. Grant Associates are looking to appoint a freelance position based on an agreed fee, the scope of works, and deliverables as summarised below. More detail of these, including the intended program will be discussed with those successful candidates invited to interview.
We would like you to have:
- an excellent knowledge of Revit and ideally experienced in its application to landscape architecture
- use and knowledge of Revit Families are essential, as well as the realisation of parametric families
- thorough working knowledge of both Navisworks and AutoCAD
- a good understanding of the RIBA work stages and the associated LOD required within each
- with a strong technical ability, you will be capable of creating clean and accurate templates, sheet layouts (including Stage B construction ready), and schedules from Revit
- ability to coordinate models from external consultants
- use of filters, shared parameters, project parameters, design options, and phase options within Revit
- an ability to think and work independently
- excellent command of both written and verbal English is essential
- personable and an ability to work closely and assist team members
- the ability to write and utilise scripts through the use of Dynamo/Grasshopper is seen as beneficial
- other plug-in scripting skills are seen as beneficial
Scope and deliverables
Setting up of in-house 2D seed files and drafting templates ready for project use including:
- completing translation of current 2D AutoCAD drafting styles into Revit native format
- assist in the development of our workflow protocol and set up our standard project browser within templates
- organising templates for ease of use
- setting up schedules, drawing issue list, planting, materials
- integration of project data into models
- setup integration of FM/AIR data requirements into a model (Uniclass/Cobie)
- setup integration of specification data into a model
- setup CDM smart tags in model to capture CDM risks
- setting up in-house 3D seed files ready for project use. Including, but not limited to the following tasks
- development of 3D family library of landscape components, standard tags, and keynotes
- assist with workflow protocols/best practice/GA standards for 3D model production
- integrate third party 3D software, Rhino etc.
- 3D modelling/render integration
- refine workflows for 3D modeling of landscape elements
- development of 2D output and scheduling from 3D elements
