Mia Karlsson Interior Design is hiring a studio assistant on a 12-month maternity cover contract to join its team in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a studio assistant, to join a small but very busy studio in Highgate, north London. MKID specialise in high-end residential projects and are seeking a confident and passionate individual with a keen interest in office administration and a minimum of three years relevant London based experience, preferably in a creative environment.
This role is a 12-month maternity cover position initially.
This is a varied role which would particularly suit a highly organised, creative, self-motivated and disciplined individual who has worked in a support role within an interior design studio previously. The studio assistant will be expected to offer high-level assistance across various projects by taking calls, handling correspondence, greeting clients, organising meetings and helping to source samples and products.
Day to day responsibilities for the interior design studio assistant include:
- sourcing fabric samples
- gathering prices and invoices from suppliers
- monitoring deliveries
- inputting quotes on our internal project management system – Ivy (Houzz Pro)
- ordering and maintaining studio supplies and stationery levels
- assist in maintaining studio databases and systems (Monday.com, Ivy, Houzz Pro, Pinterest)
- maintaining an organised and tidy sample library and updating inventory
- scheduling meetings with suppliers
- scheduling meetings with clients
- coordinate weekly and monthly progress reports for clients
- attend meetings and site visits with designers if required, assisting with note taking and following
- manage front of house, welcoming clients, answering phones, ensuring studio is presentable
Experience required:
- ability to multitask and work under pressure
- confident phone manner
- numerical and analytical skills
- at least three years’ experience working within the interiors industry (showroom, studio, office)
- excellent communication skills including verbal, written and visual
- attention to detail, organised and efficient with high level administrative skills
- ability to learn and use project management software
- take initiative to improve and streamline systems
- excellent research skills and the ability to compile and present that information
- resourceful with imaginative solutions for sourcing
- degree or qualification in interior design related field preferred
