Experienced Part 1/2 architectural assistant

STAC Architecture is seeking an experienced Part 1/2 architectural assistant to join its team in London.

STAC is recruiting for an architectural assistant to join its team in London.  Applicants should either be Part 1/2 qualified with a minimum of two years work experience.  All applicants would benefit from previous experience in large scale residential or mixed-use design environments.

STAC Architecture is an award-winning, design-orientated studio. Design excellence is at the forefront of everything we do. We focus on innovation, collaboration and making, constantly pushing the boundary of what is possible within the realms of art, architecture, interiors and product design.

STAC specialises in hospitality/retail design, with particular focus on interior fit-out in those sectors. We have also recently set up a residential side to the business and are therefore looking to also grow our residential design team.

We would therefore like to hear from architectural assistants with a minimum of two years experience post Part 1 or Part 2 qualification. The successful candidate will primarily be focussing on restaurant/hospitality design whilst also getting the opportunity to crossover and work on residential projects.

As well as a proven track record for design and communication of ideas, each candidate will be required to demonstrate that they are not only passionate about design, but self-motivated, organised and willing to work as part of a wider team.

Key criteria: 

  • relevant Part 1/2 qualification and minimum of two years professional work experience in the UK
  • Vectorworks 2D proficiency (this is essential)
  • a strong portfolio, showcasing good presentation and drawing skills, preferably including medium to large residential projects
  • excellent English, both written and verbal and eligible to work in the UK
  • proficiency in InDesign and Photoshop
  • 3D-modelling ability, preferably in Rhino 3D and Grasshopper
  • excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure

Role: 

  • work alongside and support the hospitality and residential design team with concept presentations, design development and construction documents
  • opportunity to design, detail and see fast paced projects through to construction
  • report to senior members of the team re: job status, workload, etc.

  • Mac experience
  • site experience
  • Grasshopper experience

Job start date: immediate
