Project leader – data centres and integrated technology 
at Heta Architects

Heta Architects is seeking an experienced project leader with data centre experience to join its team in London.

We are a studio of architects, designers and thinkers who look beyond the physical to design truly sustainable buildings, communities and cities. We offer ‘big practice’ experience within an agile studio setting and work with a diverse range of collaborators and experts from the creative and digital sectors.

As the world advances to a more sophisticated online economy, the built environment not only needs to keep up with technology, it needs to get ahead. From data centres, smart cities, digit twin, industry 4.0 ready manufacturing facilities, Heta has a unique opinion on how build communities around advanced technology.

We have several exciting international data centre projects in our pipeline and are looking for highly motivated, passionate, and proactive candidates who would like to progress their career and level of responsibility.

We are looking for an experienced project leader with two years minimum proven experience designing, coordinating and delivering data centre projects. The role would involve working in collaboration with other international architect studios and working closely with specialist engineers.

The successful candidate will be driven and energetic and will have the opportunity to be involved with setting up a new integrated technology sector within the business, which will involve growing the team and being client facing.

Qualifications/experience:

  • ARB UK registered architect (preferred)
  • over six years’ professional experience (Post-Part 2)
  • project experience ideally in the UK and internationally
  • minimum of two years leading data centre projects
  • experience leading BIM Level 2 projects
  • several years experience running projects and leading teams in Revit

To be successful you will need:

  • strong consultant coordination and project leadership skills
  • ability to be client facing and service multiple clients and projects in parallel
  • good technical abilities
  • strong presentation, graphic abilities and attention to detail
  • software skills in Adobe Suite, Revit, Navisworks, Solibri and Microsoft 365 suite
  • ability to think strategically and manage complex projects
  • excellent written communication, verbal and interpersonal skills (English)
  • desire to engage in business development and develop and maintain a strong network
  • desire and ambition to contribute to practice research and insight studies, practice management and office culture
  • strong leadership skills with the ability to use self-initiative in a fast-paced studio environment
  • strong management, organisation and time management skills and the ability to work well across multiple projects
  • ability to build strong relationships across the studio and work collaboratively within the team and with our collaborators
  • good client relationship skills
  • ability and desire to mentor junior members of the team

Salary guide: negotiable depending upon experience

Heta Architects operates a blended model of work from home and studio.
Interviews: due to the current COVID-19 situation, initial interviews will be conducted via video call. Depending on start date and government guidelines the role would begin working from home.
