Mid-weight/senior interior designer
at Black and Milk
Black and Milk is looking for a midweight/senior interior designer to join its team in London.
We are a boutique design studio working solely with private clients on high-end residential projects in London.
Our projects are highly bespoke and detailed. We don’t accept a copy-paste approach and always strive to bring fresh ideas to the table. We create contemporary homes with a theme of understated luxury.
The studio is led by a husband and wife team, Olga and Toly, who respectively look after design and business management.
We work on refurb and FF&E projects, so looking for an all-rounder with good knowledge of the construction process, CAD and FF&E supplier landscape.
The designer will be responsible for creating their own design schemes from concept to completion under the direction of the creative director. All our projects include implementation, and you will be working closely with the procurement and contractors during the execution stage.
You’ll be joining a young and energetic team that is passionate about great designs and architecture. Our studio is in pictures Hampstead, a few minutes from the tube saltation.
Main duties:
- manage interior design projects from concept to completion
- create exciting and fresh designs that meet the client’s brief and budget
- create and maintain project plan to ensure timed execution of all tasks
- create mood boards, material boards, detailed technical design packs, specifications and present them to the client
- create tech drawings and documentation in AutoCAD (floor plans, electrical layouts, elevations etc.)
- research products and create FF&E specifications for all product categories
- on-site project management and project coordination with the contractors
Skills and experience:
- minimum three years experience in high-end residential interior design in the UK
- great looking portfolio, which also demonstrates your technical ability
- proven good client communication and presentation skills
- good knowledge of FF&E landscape in contemporary segments across all categories used in architectural and FFE residential projects
- experience in on-site project management
- good numerical skills and attention to details
- proficiency in AutoCAD
