23 Architecture + Guy Stansfeld Architects/318 Studio is seeking an interior/FF&E designer to join its team in London.

23 Architecture + Guy Stansfeld Architects/318 Studio is an established architecture and interior design studio based in west London and is looking to appoint a mid-level interior/FF&E designer to join its team.

This position requires a hands-on, creative individual with strong organisational skills and good supplier and material knowledge. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the design process from inception to completion. They will be working on an exciting and varied range of high quality projects in London, the UK, and abroad.

  • passionate and knowledgeable about all aspects of design and excellent attention to detail
  • relevant onsite experience and good problem-solving skills
  • good communication skills, personable, effective negotiation skills to build relationships with suppliers
  • enjoys working in a fast-paced dynamic, creative environment
  • excellent verbal and written communications are essential, including client facing

Qualifications and skills:

  • minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience with a degree in interior design or interior architecture
  • experience in high end residential (commercial/hospitality experience a plus)
  • ability to create and develop design concepts for client presentation, working closely with the directors
  • fully competent to oversee FF&E specifications of all soft and hard materials/finishes and project schedules, knowledge of local and online showrooms and resources
  • up-to-date knowledge of furniture, lighting suppliers and their products on varied budgets, knowledge of manufacturing techniques
  • good level of site experience and of running project stages from conception to completion
  • creation and management of FF&E budgets, good knowledge of finances and VAT advantageous
  • ability to present to clients effectively
  • ability to read and understand technical drawings, drawing skills in Vectorworks is advantageous
  • experience in bespoke furniture design and production
