Strom Architects is hiring a project architect to join its team in Lymington, UK.
Strom Architects is a boutique practice specialising in the design and delivery of contemporary high-end one-off houses.
We seek to recruit a project architect that has minimum five years’ post-Part 3 experience and the skill to deliver complex one-off houses.
Key areas
Responsible for the day to day running of projects:
- delivery of project in accordance with project plan
- work to agreed deadlines and budgets
- ensure that QA items and checklists are adhered to
Contribute to business development:
- work with the project director to implement the business development plan and office systems in the day to day running of projects
- actively seek to improve and streamline office procedures
Daily client contact:
- be the clients’ main point of contact for the project
- keep the client up to date of project progress
Qualities and skills required:
- experience delivering contemporary high-end residential work
- have experience and confidence in liaising with clients, contractors and consultant teams
- a strong design portfolio
- documented technical and detailing experience
- job-running experience; particular at Stage 4 and onwards
- ability to work as part of a team but also individually – must be able to take initiative and be creative
- ability to work to a varying workload and tight deadlines
- excellent written and spoken English
- excellent SketchUp skills
- proficient in CAD (we use Vectorworks) and Adobe Suite
- attention to detail is essential – in design, but also writing and presentation of work
- full UK/ EU driving license

Due to the nature of the role, you will mainly work from our studio in Lymington however some flexibilty is offered.
