Cox London are designers and manufacturers of unique custom-made furniture and lighting. Their designs can be found in some of the most fascinating and beautiful properties in the world, which is testament to the quality of their production. All the pieces are manufactured in-house in the Cox Workshops studios, north London.
We are recruiting for a production supervisor, for a full-time position, in our North London workshop. This is a position suitable for someone who is knowledgeable about metalwork processes utilised in the production of high end lighting and furniture products, but who is also experienced in the hands-on management of technical manufacturing teams. As part of the production workshop team, you will be required to ensure jobs are completed within the prescribed specification and on time. You must be able to quality assess the workshop processes and completed orders according to company guidelines, promoting quality and continuous improvement throughout the workshop team.
You will need to have a desire to work in an ambitious and creative environment where you can have a positive impact as part of the manufacturing team. You will need to be able to motivate staff and communicate effectively in a practical, calm manner with a strong eye for detail. You should be articulate, able to think quickly on your feet and problem solve. You will also need to ensure that you work in harmony with all departments, maintaining a respectful and supportive teamwork environment. Duties and responsibilities
- quality control and production conformity sign-off
- ensuring technical team completion of issued jobs within specification and on time
- appointed fire warden
- risk assessment and health and safety monitoring
- issuing of materials and job briefs to technical teams
- stock control of materials
- liaising with production management and technical teams
- equipment maintenance and reporting
- team supervising, training and motivating
Skills and experience
- Preferable five years experience in a similar position as a production supervisor or similar utilising manufacturing processes required for the production of decorative lighting products and furniture
- preferably of 10+ years hands-on experience of metal manufacturing processes with proven experience dealing with complexity and problem solving of the production of unique bespoke interior products
- a college certificate or university degree within arts or product manufacturing
- relevant qualifications in metalwork engineering processes, furniture fabrication and decorative lighting production
- a full clean UK drivers licence
