Junior/mid-weight interior architect

Nebihe Cihan Studio is hiring a junior/mid-weight interior architect to join its team in London.

Main responsibilities:

  • able to lead and manage a project from concept to completion
  • adjust designs and plans to meet the client’s needs
  • produce design drawings and tender packages using AutoCAD
  • produce and review detailed joinery drawings
  • produce upholstery drawings and follow execution with the suppliers
  • will be responsible for bidding and awarding projects
  • design custom furniture and produce detailed furniture drawings
  • preparing 3D visuals using SketchUp or 3D Studio Max for internal use
  • produce client presentations using Adobe Indesign
  • involvement in the preparation of client concept presentations
  • work under pressure and to tight deadlines while being overseen by the creative director
  • value engineer designs to meet budget requirements
  • comply with safety standards and local planning regulations
  • attend site visits to ensure designs are executed in a timely manner and to the standards
  • follow construction progress and attend regular site visits to ensure site is on track
  • manage project teams and collaborate with other construction professionals

Requirements:

  • degree in architecture or interior architecture
  • minimum three years of experience in high-end residential design
  • excellent technical drawings
  • good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • great knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max or SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite
  • strong creative and visualisation skills
  • knowledge of building codes and regulatory standards
  • excellent knowledge of use of materials in luxury interiors
  • experience working on projects across all work stages
  • a team player and a self-starter
  • experience on site, following construction and progress
  • have relationships with high-end suppliers globally
  • an excellent eye for detail
  • proven creative problem-solving skills
  • flexible and able to multitask in a fast-paced team
  • able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines while being overseen by the creative director
  • have site experience following high-end projects
  • great skills in working to budget and deadlines
  • easily adapt to value engineer projects when required
  • have excellent written and spoken English
  •  must have the right to work in the UK
  • Italian and/or French speaking is a plus
