Simon Smith & Michael Brooke are seeking an architect to join its busy team based in Clapham, London. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in design and architecture, as well as a passion for detail with ideally two to five years’ experience, post part 3 working on high end residential projects for private clients.
We are a long-established architecture practice with a wide and varied portfolio of work. Based in Clapham Old Town we work in a relaxed but dedicated team of 12 and encourage a collaborative work environment through sharing of ideas and experience.
The ideal candidate will be creative with good technical knowledge and have project running experience, across all RIBA stages. This role offers excellent opportunities for site and project management experience, working closely alongside both the client and wider contract team.

Ideal candidate:
- excellent working knowledge of CAD (preferably Microstation) MS Office, SketchUp and Adobe Suite
- evidence of JCT contract administration and job running ability
- good knowledge of UK building regulations and experience with planning application procedures
- Stage 4 detail design experience essential including good knowledge of residential construction detailing and best practice.
- excellent design and presentation skills with good written and verbal communication skills
- motivated with the ability to multi-task, manage workload and meet deadlines
- an enthusiasm for interior design, lighting, joinery and high-end finishes
- two to five years’ post Part 3 experience
- enjoy working as part of a team
- flexibility and a willingness to pitch in to both project and non-project tasks
