Jolie Studio is recruiting an interior architect/technologist to join its team in London.

Jolie Studio is a leading interior design practice with a studio in Manchester and an office in London.

The role will be based in our Southwark CoWork, but with the opportunity to work from home two days a week.

We focus on sensory led design with sustainability at its heart and have an exciting new opportunity within the business for an architectural technologist or an interior architect.

You will be an integral part of our team, working closely with our property developer clients, business owners and collaborating with external consultants and architects.

This role requires a confident individual, comfortable with producing deliverables within RIBA stages 1 to 5 on projects in the commercial and hospitality sector, with a day to day focus on producing stage 3 and 4 technical packs and stage 5 consultancy.

You will need to have four plus years’ experience across all project phases in the commercial and hospitality sector, with a focus on developed and technical design.

We predominantly use AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite so this is an essential part of the role as you will be responsible for preparing technical packages including detailed sections, elevations, GA’s and RCP’s as well as detailed specification packages and bespoke joinery.

You will work really closely with our interior design team and with onsite teams so must have an excellent understanding of the construction process in order to effectively liaise with engineers and project managers and ensure the designs are delivered seamlessly.

You’ll be passionate about detail and keep up-to-date with new developments and design trends in our industry and you will build relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.

The role

To deliver key stages on a number of projects, with a focus on producing deliverables within RIBA Stages 3-4; and managing the delivery through Stage 5 consultancy:

  • preparing technical packages including detailed sections, elevations, GA’s and RCP’s as well as detailed specification packages; this will include bespoke joinery
  • assisting with all phases of the project including conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documents
  • researching and source architectural and interior finishes, fabrics, furniture, sanitary-ware, ironmongery, etc.
  • assisting with design proposals, construction details, visualisations and schedules
  • working directly with the client and project managers onsite during delivery
  • consulting with architects, QS’s and engineer and project stakeholders
  • excellent understanding of the construction process
  • co-ordinate internally with teams, as well as externally with consultants and suppliers
  • presenting ideas both internally and externally

Experience/technical skills:

  • minimum of five years’ experience in the role of interior architect or architectural technologist
  • bachelor’s degree in BA interior architecture/architecture or BSc architectural technologist
  • working knowledge of the RIBA stages
  • excellent knowledge of UK Building Regulations
  • AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite

Nice to have:

  • understanding of building control procedure
  • ARB Registered
  • 3D visualisation
  • basic estimation skills
