Nicola Harding & Co is recruiting a junior interior designer to join its growing team in London.

About us

Nicola Harding & Co is a recognised authority on creating liveable, soulful places, characterised by colour, attention to detail and an eclectic mix of found items.

You will be part of a friendly, dynamic team, working in a stimulating, open plan, studio environment. We take great care to look after each member of the team and to promote their professional development. You will be working on an exciting mix of residential and commercial projects. We have a dedicated procurement team and an in-house finance manager to support the design team.

Key responsibilities:

  • supported by senior or mid-weight designer
  • assisting the design team in all areas of their projects
  • assisting the team with the concept design and presentation by helping with image sourcing, 3D sketching, Photoshop editing and setting up/printing presentation booklets
  • sourcing FF&E
  • recording, collating and distributing supporting technical documentation
  • researching and sharing new trends, materials and styles within the industry
  • sourcing, procuring and assembling samples within the samples library
  • liaising with suppliers
  • supporting and maintaining studio sustainability policies

What we’re looking for

You will need to be highly creative, have a strategic mind and be excellent at problem-solving. You will have an interest in the history of styles, period detailing and antiques, as well as understanding current trends. You will be a keen researcher and have an appetite for colour, texture and the blending of personal and cultural histories.

Experience and qualifications required:

  • one plus years’ post-qualification experience of residential and/or boutique commercial projects (to include internships)
  • excellent time management and organisational skills
  • good attention to detail and some knowledge of finishes, detailing and scheduling
  • free-hand sketching skills
  • excellent communication skills – able to liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and architects in a confident and professional manner
  • a good knowledge of furniture and materials and where to source them

Skills:

  • proficient in AutoCAD
  • experienced user of Microsoft Office
  • good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign (Illustrator beneficial)
  • working knowledge of Estimac beneficial
  • excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
