Peter Mikic Interiors is currently seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic senior interior designer to join our dynamic team in London. We are looking for an individual who possesses a versatile skill set, excelling in areas such as sourcing and scheduling, architectural detailing, and leading projects from concept to completion.
As a senior interior designer, you will have the opportunity to lead multiple projects, collaborating with junior team members to ensure successful outcomes. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who enjoys working across all stages of projects and has a proven track record of managing small teams effectively.
At Peter Mikic Interiors, our focus lies in high-end residential, restaurant and marine interior design, catering to both local and international clients. Our studio is a vibrant and collaborative environment where architects and interior designers come together to create exceptional spaces.
Key responsibilities:
- leading and overseeing numerous projects, providing guidance to junior team members
- ensuring seamless client service and maintaining exceptional communication throughout the design process
- acting as the main point of contact for clients, project managers, architects, sub-contractors, and suppliers
- facilitating and leading meetings with clients and sub-contractors
- coordinating contractors, suppliers, and services to ensure timely project delivery
- demonstrating adaptability in handling complex questions and seamlessly transitioning between various projects
- creating mood boards, presentation drawings, and client presentations
- displaying proficiency in architectural drawing, detailing, and preparation of drawing packs for tender
- conducting value engineering in alignment with project requirements
- developing detailed specifications and schedules
- managing project budgets effectively
- cultivating strong client relationships, upholding our values consistently
- establishing project programs and adhering to deadlines
- demonstrating in-depth knowledge of RIBA project stages
- please note that this role may occasionally involve national and international travel
Key skills and attributes:
- seven or more years of post-qualification experience, with a proven track record of delivering high-end residential or commercial interior design projects from concept to completion
- an exceptional eye for detail abd colour, and a keen understanding of antiques
- highly organised and efficient in managing projects
- proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
- comfortable and confident in working with high-profile figures, exercising discretion when necessary
- excellent verbal and written communication skills, as you will be liaising with multiple stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors and architects
- as the ideal candidate, you will be able to hit the ground running, working confidently both independently and as part of a team. You’re patient, friendly, and well-organised nature will contribute to a positive studio environment. To excel in this role, a broad knowledge and understanding of design styles to draw upon for different projects will be essential.
