John Robertson Architects is recruiting an interior designer to join its team in London.
JRA is an established, award winning AJ100 practice based on Southwark Street, SE1 with offices in Edinburgh and Poland. The practice undertakes a wide range of office, mixed use and residential developments, including new-build schemes and redevelopments, work to listed and historic buildings and interior architecture. Our projects range in value from £2m to £200m+.
The practice built its reputation providing clients with an all-through service; supporting projects from briefing stages to construction and we encourage our staff to develop the broad range of skills and knowledge required for this approach.
We currently have an opportunity for a qualified interior designer who will work in collaboration with our architectural team. We encourage applications from dynamic candidates with an interest in all aspects of the design process, who wish to be involved in projects through every design stage.
As an interior designer, you will provide design support for completion and execution of design projects, working on all project design stages and your responsibilities will include:
- ability to present finishes presentation to clients as well as various stage reports
- contribute to all project phases: space planning, test fits, schematic plans, and conceptual designs, refine design solutions for design development, collaborating with multiple disciplines
- produce interior and architectural presentations in InDesign, including 3D renderings, for client presentations
- contribute to the preparation of tender documents, including plans, elevations, details and specifications
- assist in managing team and client communication
- strong knowledge in M&E to coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors and building regulations
- strong knowledge in interior finishes, fixtures and furniture manufacturers
- deliver projects to practical completion including acting as design guardian to ensure conformance to employer requirements in design and build contracts
- support the directors to develop the client, contractor and design team communications, developing and maintaining strong external and internal relationships
