Architect/architectural designer/technologist
at Studio PDP

Studio PDP is looking for an architect/architectural designer or technologist to join its team in London.

This role will require RIBA Stage 4 and RIBA Stage 5 experience as the project will focus on detail design and construction. The role will also be to provide technical guidance and assistance to the wider design team and client.

Key responsibilities:

  • to assist the development of the architects’ design by analysing building regulations, space requirements, survey information, reports and other technical documents.
  • preparation, coordination and communication of technical information including drawings, reports and schedules and specification
  • technical detailing
  • ensure the required statutory regulations are met
  • obtaining, recording and organising information
  • calculating U-values and assisting the team with envelope technical details
  • preparation of regulatory applications
  • to weigh up technical problems and provide detailed design solutions
  • design stage risk assessments and monitor health and safety in design
  • liaise between members of the design and construction team
  • on-site inspection of work and dealing with Contractor queries
  • keeping up to date with new construction methods, materials and technology
  • internal audit of drawings and specifications carried out at relevant stages of the project

Key skills:

  • experience of using Revit to a high standard along with other software packages
  • knowledge of building regulations
  • the ability to think laterally
  • a high level of attention to detail and ability to check and correct your own and other’s work accurately
  • good at following things through to completion, with consistency
  • a strong work ethic, which is demonstrated in your personal approach and also communicated to others
  • able to work to deadlines
  • to be able to work on your own initiative
