Environmental analysis lead
Allies and Morrison is hiring an environmental analysis lead to join its team in London, UK.
Allies and Morrison is looking to recruit a new environmental analysis lead who will oversee, refine and coordinate our environmental design strategy. Working across the practice, the environmental analysis lead will play a crucial role in enabling our people and projects to address the significant challenges presented by the climate emergency.
You will directly influence our capabilities to design, refine and assess the environmental performance of our projects from the earliest design stages. The role will require expertise and leadership, generating environmental performance analysis to raise and to realise our practice sustainability aspirations. Opportunities to develop and lead targeted practice related research are also envisaged.
You would report to the practice partner leading on our sustainability objectives. The focus of this position is to work closely with our head of sustainability along with our other internal specialist teams, project teams, consultants and clients. Our dedicated sustainability team currently comprises a partner, a head of sustainability, and a supporting sustainability coordinator. The environmental analysis lead will complement this group to achieve the objectives outlined within our practice sustainability strategy and will directly contribute to us fulfilling our commitments to Architects Declare and the RIBA 2030 Challenge.
Responsibilities:
- interface closely with our internal specialist technical and technology groups
- work directly alongside our architectural teams to develop sustainable, low carbon and regenerative architectural strategies and design – across all RIBA work stages
- contribute to our broad range of projects of varying typologies, scale (such as masterplan and buildings) and national and international work
- develop links with industry/ academia/ external partners to ensure innovative solutions
- help to establish and implement a comprehensive staff environmental analysis training program – inspire, mentor, and educate our project staff on environmental design including emerging and innovative strategies and technologies
- grow the capability, skills and reputation of the practice within this specialist area
- assist with our CPD programme in line with the RIBA curriculum
- contribute to project bids and to winning work
- engage with our ISO 14001 and 50001 certification requirements, most particularly with regard to reducing our operational carbon
