Adam Richards Architects is hiring an experienced architect to join its team in London, UK.
Adam Richards Architects (ARA) is an award-winning creative practice with a wide-ranging portfolio of projects including arts, cultural, heritage, educational and residential schemes.
Based in Shoreditch, the practice comprises a small team, working across a number of inspiring and design-led projects at different stages of development.
We are currently looking for a highly motivated project architect with good detailing and creative skills, previous experience in working on existing buildings and leading and coordinating teams to deliver high-quality buildings.
The role would include a high level of autonomy and responsibility with a lead on projects of varying scales. ARA aims to provide the opportunity for the successful applicant to expand their own knowledge and experience and be part of a growing team seeking out distinctive projects.

Essential skills or experience:
- qualified and experienced architect to join the practice full-time, working across all stages
- design-led project running with excellent communication skills
- ability to manage and/or work in a team
- skills to delegate and review the work of others
- commitment to sustainable design and practice
- experience with coordinating teams on and off-site
- preparing and submitting planning applications
- thorough knowledge of technical detailing and specification
- delivering working drawing/information packages for tender and construction works
- project scheduling, managing time and resourcing successfully
- sound knowledge of UK building regulations
- experience with listed buildings
- excellent numeracy, written and spoken English
Desirable skills or experience:
- Vectorworks
- NBS specification and contract administration software
- SketchUp
- InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- experience with sustainable technologies
