Architectural technician

Catto & Co is seeking an architectural technician to join its team in London.
Catto & Co is a London-based ‘turn-key’ design and build firm that specialises in delivering excellent architectural and interior design, efficient project management and high quality construction. Our aim is to remove the complexity from domestic construction projects with a driven team all under one roof. We pride ourselves on our open, fast-paced and friendly team.
Job role
We are looking for a creative and motivated individual with an excellent understanding of architectural/construction drafting/detailing. The job placement would particularly suit someone with previous experience in residential extension/basement design and architecture. This is a part-time role.
Responsibilities:
- supporting the director and other team members across multiple residential projects and tasks
- using AutoCAD daily to produce 2D drawings including plans, sections, elevations and 1:10/1:20 details
- reviewing and revising drawings based on feedback
- maintaining accurate project records
- staying up to date on building regulations and best practice techniques
Skills and attributes:
- superb design ability
- strong knowledge of UK building regulations and recent amendments
- experience of architectural detailing with a strong technical ability
- experience working on UK residential projects is essential
- collaborative team player
- methodical, detail-oriented and organised
- deep knowledge of residential construction
- 2D AutoCAD LT practical experience is essential
- knowledge of SketchUp/Photoshop/InDesign would be welcome
- minor admin duties
- friendly and can-do attitude with the ability to work unsupervised
- good verbal and written English with colleagues and clients
- superb customer service skills
Additional information:
- start date is as soon as possible
- three-month probation period required to make sure that you are a good fit for us, and vice versa
- salary dependant on experience within the industry
- regular working hours are 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, with possibility of flexible working
