Adam Knibb Architects is seeking an experienced architect with more than five years’ experience to join its team in Winchester, UK.
We are looking for a talented and motivated architect who can serve as a leader within our studio. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing an assistant and managing multiple projects simultaneously. The role requires excellent design skills, effective communication with clients and the ability to coordinate and collaborate with the design team. Problem-solving skills are crucial to address technical and construction challenges.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- RIBA Part 3 or equivalent qualification with at least five-plus years experience at this level
- a passion for modern, contemporary and sustainable architecture with a drive to innovate throughout the design and construction process
- previous experience in leading projects at all RIBA design stages, with a particular eye for detail
- excellent independent time management and organisational skills
- strong verbal, written and presentation skills
- ability to work accurately and efficiently, and to multitask on a number of projects with a keen eye for design and detailing
- thorough experience in the UK planning system and building regulations
- experience of Vectorworks preferred, or equivalent CAD package, SketchUp and Adobe Suites
- candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and fluent in written and spoken English

Our studio
The practice is set in the centre of Winchester, a market town, often rated as one of the best places to live in the UK. We’re close to the beautiful cathedral, with nearby walks along the River Itchen and are close to many high street shops, restaurants, pubs and coffee shops.
Our office is a modern space, where we actively encourage collaborative team working. We have a purpose designed open plan studio interior with separate meeting room and breakout space, flooded with natural light.
AKA fosters a collaborative working environment where design contributions and ideas are welcomed, and mentoring from peers is encouraged.
