Weston Williamson + Partners is looking for a design director/associate design lead to join its studio in London.

The role involves working on some of the world’s highest profile infrastructure and masterplanning projects.

We are an award winning, international architectural and urban design studio. Our ethos of working collaboratively to create and connect sustainable places for people and influence the many sectors we specialise in which include the creation of innovative transport infrastructure, high-quality residential and mixed-use spaces.

Our studio is structured to facilitate a culture of innovation and exemplary design whilst building upon our 35 years of experience, to deliver successful projects.

Several positions are available in our infrastructure team working on projects in the UK and the Middle East, with great opportunities for growth in an expanding practice.

Design director/associate design lead

We are looking for a design director and associate design lead with strong design leadership and client interfacing skills. You will be responsible for ensuring design excellence across a range of projects, reporting to the global head of design. This role would suit an ambitious, talented and design focused individual with a hands-on approach to articulating clear concepts and design solutions.

Skills/experience:

  • ARB/ RIBA accredited architect with minimum of eight years in practice
  • exceptional client facing experience
  • personable and approachable
  • excellent verbal and graphical communication with ability to articulate clear concepts and narrative through storyboarding, diagramming and client presentations
  • proven track record of delivering high quality projects across all RIBA design stages (concept/technical)
  • proficient across a range of design led software (Rhino, Revit, Enscape, Adobe suite etc)

Leadership and project management:

  • lead design workshops and design reviews
  • establish and implement efficient and focused design activities for team
  • project management, working within deadlines and budgets
  • manage and mentor design teams to promote a strong design culture and collaborative working environment
