Karakusevic Carson Architects is seeking an urban designer to join its team in London.
Karakusevic Carson Architects is an award winning and design focused Practice specialising in public sector work and social housing.
We are looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable urban designer with proven experience to work on large scale masterplanning, urban design and area strategy projects with local authority clients across London.
Requirements for the role:
- a minimum of a masters degree in urban design or similar related subject
- a minimum of three year’s post-qualification urban design or strategic experience
- excellent design ability, creativity combined with good technical knowledge
- working knowledge of urban design practice in a London or major city context
- ability to work independently and as part of a larger diverse, lively and vibrant productive studio team
- experience in preparing parameter plans and design guidelines
- a collaborative approach including experience of coordination with technical consultants
- excellent freehand drawing, presentation and graphic skills
- a strong public conscience in pursuing project goals and the practice’s aims
In addition, the candidate must have:
- the ability to work to regular and quick turnaround deadlines
- have the ability to work independently, taking initiative and work autonomously
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- an excellent eye for detail and a strategic mind
- excellent competence with design packages including Revit, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
