Intermediate FF&E designer
at Bryan O'Sullivan Studio

Bryan O’Sullivan Studio is looking for an intermediate FF&E designer to join its office in New York City.

We are seeking experienced designers with five to seven years’ experience in high-end residential and commercial interior design who have the drive and skills to join our growing office in NYC.

Responsibilities:

  • pro-active, diligent and consistent completion of tasks and milestones assigned to maintain the project timeline and ensure the continuation of the studio’s design
  • maintains constant communication with the Senior Designer to ensure that the design is conceived and developed according to the creative vision of the principal and the studio
  • ensures that design proposals and documents issued to Clients, Fabricators, and Builders accurately describe the extent of the design scope, in terms of pricing, lead times and specifications
  • to assist the design team in preparing 3D computer sketches: furniture and lighting plans, FF&E concept presentations, FF&E tearsheets, FF&E schedules etc.
  • confident is sourcing, assembling and presenting sample boards and schedules across all design phases
  • ability to work in all stages of design (concept design, design development, purchasing, installations, etc.)

The ideal candidate’s background includes:

  • five to seven years’ experience in high-end residential interior design; additional experience in hospitality design is a plus
  • experience working for and within high-end, renowned interior design or architecture firms
  • wide knowledge base of furniture, lighting, drapery, fabrics and speciality finish manufacturers and suppliers appropriate for both high-end residential and commercial projects
  • side knowledge of fabricators for bespoke furniture, lighting, and joinery
  • wide knowledge of high-end sources for decorative accessories
  • degree in interior design from an accredited institution
  • legal and physical residency in New York City or its vicinity
  • willingness to work at our office in Manhattan full-time

Technical skills required:

  • excellent communication oral, written and graphic skills
  • MS Office Suite: proficient
  • AutoCAD: proficient
  • Adobe Suite: moderate to proficient
  • Sketchup: moderate to proficient
  • English language: fluent
  • Studio Designer: moderate to proficient
