Senior interior designer
at FARE

FARE are hiring a senior interior designer (maternity cover) to join its team in London.

This is a 9 month position (potential opportunity to extend). Candidate must be available to start in October.

We are looking for a detail orientated, dedicated senior interior designer to cover maternity leave for a period of 9 months. The position will be mainly focused on hospitality projects, with residential interiors on the side. As an integral part of a small team, you will be running projects on-site with the support of the creative director and junior designer and will be responsible for producing high quality project design deliverables from concept generation, to FF&E specification and construction documentation.

Key responsibilities: 

  • developing original designs across interior and FF&E concepts for new hospitality venues and residential projects
  • produce high-quality design documentation; CAD drawing packages, joinery packages and tender packs
  • take ownership of signing off all construction and shop drawings from specialist subcontractors, joiners and bespoke FF&E suppliers, ensuring durability, design intent and operational functionality are met
  • manage the studio workflow and junior team to support projects, reviewing designs produced and resources required
  • liaising with clients throughout the design process, effectively presenting designs and problem solving feedback
  • manage budget documentation over interior fit out, joinery and FF&E for clients and contractors. Procurement of FF&E
  • manage and oversee projects on site, liaising with contractors and attending site meetings both UK and in Europe to ensure designs are implemented correctly and on time.
  • sourcing FF&E for hospitality and residential projects, designing bespoke pieces where required
  • manage the installation of FF&E on site, styling and producing handover packs

Your experience:

  • excellent communication skills, self-motivated with the ability to work alone and with support of the junior team
  • minimum five to six years’ experience in hospitality interior design, leading projects on site to completion is a must
  • highly proficient in Excel to manage detailed schedules across FF&E, interior fit out and materials
  • highly proficient in using Vectorworks (2D) to produce full technical design packages. SketchUp experience ideal
  • highly proficient in Adobe InDesign (presentations), Photoshop (rendering elevations/plans/sketchup models)

Salary is dependant on experience. The role is based in our lovely studio in Vauxhall, London. WFH on Fridays.
