Senior interior designer

Faye Toogood directs and executes interiors and environments from concept through to creation. We offer a full creative direction and interior design service with projects ranging from the two-dimensional page to the three-dimensional space, and from the real to the conceptual.
Under the creative direction of designer Faye Toogood, the studio collaborates with clients who seek alternative ways of developing their brand or their interior spaces. Its distinctive approach disregards convention in favour of something altogether more brave, joyous and impulsive.
Within the studio you will be able to draw on a wide range of talents and diverse backgrounds, including fine art, history of art, product design, architecture and interior design.
Responsibilities:
- to develop the interior design scheme and material palette for the project
- to source, negotiate all costs and lease with all suppliers for the full FF&E procurement pack
- to prepare, and develop drawings, models, material and mood boards and other documents relating to the design
- to co-ordinate the internal design team for the project
- to take responsibility for the development of the design and the project with input from the design director and creative director for the key project stages
- to liaise, where appropriate, with members of the external design team and other associated organisations both on and off site
- work with project manager and finance to ensure smooth running of the project and budget responsibility
Qualities and skills required essential:
- legally able to work in the country in which the position is based
- have an industry recognised diploma or degree in interior design, interior architecture or architecture
- min. five+ years experience in hotels and hospitality sector
- proven track record of designing and sourcing for large scale projects
- proven track record of managing FF&E procurement documentation
- able to understand and formulate design decisions and present for discussion
- able to take initiative in response to direction or instruction
- excellent organisational, written and verbal communication skills
- able to attend, manage and co-ordinate on-site meetings
- able to manage and prioritise tasks and time efficiently
- self-motivated and able to take responsibility
- good interpersonal skills and able to work independently and as part of an effective team
- able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally
- able to deal with the management of junior and intermediate designers on the team
