Business development manager

Icons of Denmark is looking for a business development manager to join its London-based team.

Founded in 2009, we are renowned as being the home of Danish design for commercial interiors. We are committed to bringing the very best of Danish design to the commercial interiors market in the UK and beyond. We work closely with a carefully considered circle of talented designers and craftsmen who hold a deep fascination for refined beauty, natural materials and functional design that the Danes pride themselves upon. We work across every sector, industry and market. We are actively looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our expanding team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • identifying key target customers both existing and new
  • assisting in the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies
  • producing valuable and engaging content for our partners and end users
  • measuring and reporting performance of sales & marketing campaigns, gaining insight and assessing against goals
  • coordinating trade fairs globally and overseeing all aspects to successfully deliver the show
  • maintaining a working relationship with vendors and venues
  • issuing invoices and collecting payments in a timely manner, and creating comprehensive and readable financial reports
  • managing and overseeing events including problem-solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organising vendors
  • liaising with senior staff/management
  • contributing to the development of sales strategies and sales targets
  • delivering presentations

Key competencies:

  • experience in a previous business development position engaging in B2B sales
  • experience assisting in the planning, developing and execution of sales strategies
  • generating new business, increasing pipeline and bringing on new prospects
  • in-depth knowledge of the commercial furniture industry and interior design markets
  • excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • ability to plan and execute innovative ideas to promote our brand and achieve campaign metrics
  • ability to think and work creatively
  • knowledge and experience with Google analytics
  • working knowledge of HTML, design and email software
  • knowledge of the contract furniture industry
  • expert attention to detail, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • the ability to multi-task
  • the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • knowledge of IT systems – specifically Synology NAS and Dropbox
  • proficiency in company-specific programmes such as Adobe Creative Suite,
  • pipeline Deals, Sketchup

Qualifications and experience required

  • bachelor’s degree
  • experience in the contract furniture industry would be an advantage
  • enthusiasm for Danish design an advantage
  • previous experience in sales and marketing both digital and traditional
  • previous experience in organising industry trade fairs
  • experience working in a coworking environment

Salary: £30,000-£35,000 per annum depending on experience
