Studio assistant

Cousins & Cousins is hiring a studio assistant to join its team in London.

We are an architecture and interior design practice dedicated to creating high-quality homes, workplaces, commercial buildings, and cultural projects. We are looking for an organised, proactive and people focused studio assistant to join our team of 16 in north London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a great outlook who wishes to grow with the studio and develop a career in a creative and energetic environment. Reporting to the senior management team (SMT), the chosen candidate should have the scope to help us manage the running of our business with a hands on and proactive approach. Personable and a natural communicator, you will enjoy building good relationships and bring a positive attitude to your work.

The candidate will have an important role to play across the growth and culture of our studio and will enjoy a dynamic and varied position. You will be comfortable managing multiple work streams in a deadline-driven environment and are happy as part of a team or working in a self-directed manner as appropriate. You will be part of a team developing processes and systems that will help the studio run smoothly, harvest intelligence and create opportunities for improvement.

The role encompasses the following areas:

Marketing and business development

Managing the studio’s marketing and BD activities, monitoring, and reporting on our agreed KPIs and working alongside our external consultant to help deliver the studio’s strategy. Working with the social media team to help communicate Cousins & Cousins across all our channels.

HR

Engaging with the team to ensure their wellbeing and professional development. Managing and supporting the employee lifecycle at Cousins & Cousins.

Finance

Managing the studio’s invoicing, payments, credit control and financial documents whilst assisting our bookkeeper and accountants.

Office administration and support

Ensuring the smooth running of our business and maintaining the studio – from answering the telephone, coordinating diaries to managing office supplies. Assisting the operations manager and SMT with office policies and accreditations.

Essential:

  • graduate level or higher
  • minimum two years’ experience in a similar field
  • great numeracy skills
  • fantastic organisational ability
  • excellent spoken and written English with good communication skills
  • ability to handle multiple tasks at once
  • team mindset and ability to work autonomously
  • professionalism and tact
  • tenacious with an attention for detail and a rigorous approach to work
  • proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Excel
  • eligibility to work in the UK

Desirable but not essential – we are looking for a candidate with the right attitude who can grow into the role:

  • marketing, BD and Social Media experience
  • previous office administration experience in a creative environment
  • experience of Xero, CMAP, Pipedrive CRM, InDesign
  • an interest in design

Whilst government guidelines permit, the candidate will be expected to work full time from our studio in Camden, north London.

Salary is dependent on experience.

Role to commence early August.
