Hong Kong
Furniture, lighting and product designer
at NC Design & Architecture

NC Design & Architecture is hiring a furniture, lighting and product designer to join its team in Hong Kong.

NC Design & Architecture (NCDA) is an award-winning architecture and interior design studio based in Hong Kong, renowned for crafting bespoke spaces that fuse art, architecture, and storytelling to create transformative experiences. Our portfolio spans iconic hospitality projects like the Artifact Bar (Dezeen Award winner), high-profile Louis Vuitton exhibitions, immersive art installations like Dreamscape, and large-scale developments such as Deep Water Pavilia, Timber House, and Artisan Lab, each redefining luxury and innovation. At NCDA, we pioneer a highly 3D-centric approach to design, sculpting everything from architectural forms and spatial layouts to intricate interior details and custom furniture in a seamless, holistic manner— a rarity in the industry where spaces and products are often designed in isolation. This integrated method shines in signature projects like Chapel Residence, where bespoke furniture and lighting harmonize with the architecture, or larger-scale endeavors like Deep Water Pavilia and Mandarin Oriental Hangzhou, blending heritage with cutting-edge elegance.

From our vibrant Sheung Wan studio on Hollywood Road, we’re seeking a passionate intermediate product designer with three to five years’ of experience to join our Hong Kong team full-time. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping landmark projects, focusing on 3D modeling and product integration to bring NCDA’s visionary designs to life. Ideal candidates bring a background in product, furniture, or lighting design, or come from interior/architectural fields with high-end hospitality experience. If you excel in 3D sculpting (especially on Rhino) and thrive in an innovative environment that merges spaces and objects into cohesive narratives, join us to redefine the future of design.

Key responsibilities:

  • contribute to all project phases: design research, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and bidding, with a strong emphasis on integrating product and furniture elements into spatial designs
  • develop high-fidelity 3D models, renderings, and presentations using tools like Rhino, 3ds Max, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite to sculpt holistic designs – from architectural volumes to custom furniture, lighting, and intricate details
  • work with clients, architects, and contractors to align designs with project goals, budgets, and timelines, ensuring NCDA’s storytelling ethos – seen in projects like Louis Vuitton exhibitions and Dreamscape – infuses every element, from spatial forms to furniture and lighting
  • conduct site visits, source materials, and coordinate projects in Hong Kong and potentially internationally, drawing on the innovative, 3D-holistic approaches of Timber House and Artisan Lab

Collaborate on NCDA’s lead design projects, including:

  • Mandarin Oriental Hangzhou: designing luxurious guest rooms, suites, presidential suites, and four innovative restaurants and bars for a 2026 opening near the UNESCO World Heritage West Lake, incorporating bespoke furniture and lighting that blend heritage with modern elegance
  • Dubai Mall: creating bold, beautiful retail interiors with integrated product designs for a luxurious shopping experience
  • Deep Water Pavilia: crafting bespoke interiors and custom furnishings for Hong Kong’s ultra-luxury residential landmark in Wong Chuk Hang, launched in 2025, emphasizing sea-view apartments, sustainable luxury, and seamless space-product integration
  • additional projects like two restaurants at a Hong Kong iconic landmark shopping mall and four luxurious residences, where 3D-driven product design elevates the overall narrative.

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in product design, furniture design, industrial design, interior design, architecture, or a related field
  • three to five years’ of professional experience, ideally in product, furniture, or lighting design; alternatively, in interior or architectural design with a high-end hospitality focus. Candidates with exceptional 3D sculpting skills in Rhino may be considered even without direct product background
  • proficiency in Rhino (essential for 3D sculpting), AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign; familiarity with AI design tools a plus. Strong technical knowledge of furniture construction, materials, or lighting design is highly desirable and will be given extra consideration
  • strong creative vision and problem-solving skills, with a knack for translating client needs into evocative, site-specific designs that integrate spaces and products holistically, as exemplified in NCDA’s Louis Vuitton, Dreamscape, and Chapel Residence projects
  • excellent communication and presentation skills; fluent English required; Cantonese and Mandarin highly desirable
  • Hong Kong permanent resident or eligible to work in Hong Kong; immediate availability preferred
  • passion for bespoke design, storytelling, and creating integrated spaces that inspire, as seen in Timber House and Artisan Lab’s innovative developments

What we offer:

  • opportunity to design world-class projects like the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Hangzhou, a new shopping mall in Dubai, and Deep Water Pavilia residences, alongside NCDA’s renowned portfolio of award-winning projects like Louis Vuitton exhibitions, Lee Garden Club Avenue Lounge, Timber House residential complex, private residences like Chapel Residence, and wellness lounges like KI Culinary Club—enhancing your portfolio with global impact through innovative 3D and product-focused work
  • a supportive, high-end hospitality-focused design studio environment in Sheung Wan on Hollywood Road, with a five-day work week and minimal overtime
  • professional growth through international project exposure, cutting-edge 3D software tools, and award-winning design opportunities in a collaborative setting that values holistic innovation
